Review of Manikarnika : The Queen of Jhansi

चमक उठी सन सत्तावन में, वह तलवार पुरानी थी,

बुंदेले हरबोलों के मुँह हमने सुनी कहानी थी,

खूब लड़ी मर्दानी वह तो झाँसी वाली रानी थी।।

Synopsis – A periodic drama movie based on the bravery of Rani Lakshmibai is something that I was excited to watch and Manikarnika didn’t fail to impress me. This movie had many wonderful shots to keep the audience excited till the end.

Direction – This movie was directed by Krish and Kangana Ranaut together and they both have done a wonderful job but it was the casting and dialogues that made this movie worth a watch. The direction was neat, crisp and it’s not easy to direct a periodic drama movie but Krish and Kangana both did a beautiful job and beautifully depicted the life of Rani Lakshmibai.

Casting – Kangana Ranaut proved that she is a one women army. She has nailed the art to play any role that has been given to her brilliantly. Likewise, the powerful cast lineup Atul Kulkarni, Jisshu Sengupta, Danny Denzongpa, Ankita Lokhande, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and all other cast gave powerful performances.

Verdict – This movie is worth a watch.

Ratings – 3.5/5

Review of Thackeray

Synopsis – Bal Keshav Thackeray (Saheb) was, is and will be one of the most iconic personalities of India. This movie is based on the rise of Balasaheb from a cartoon artist to one of the most powerful politicians.

Direction – Directed by Abhijit Panse, this movie was a pure story. It showed certain important events from the life of Balasaheb.

Cast – Nawazuddin Siddiqui nailed the character of Balasaheb. From the body language to the voice, everything was at par. Amrita Rao also acted wonderfully. But this movie was completely reliant on the Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s shoulder and his performance was brilliant.

Verdict – You can give this on a watch if you are interested in the life of Balasaheb Thackeray.

Ratings – 2.5/5

Review of Why Cheat India

Synopsis – The first thing that comes to our minds when we think about the education system of our country is that it’s a BIASED system. The story of Why Cheat India revolves around the same educational fundamental which are being followed in our country and how this system ruins the career of many youths of our country.

Story – I feel that this movie had a very strong and convincing story to make it a must-watch but due to some loopholes, it failed to leave a strong impression in my mind. The story revolved around Rakesh Singh (Emraan Hashmi) who uses a small-town boy Sattu (Snighadeep Chatterjee) to clear the competitive exams for the undeserving students with rich backgrounds.

Casting – Emraan Hashmi gave a powerful performance along with Snighadeep Chatterjee and Shreya Dhanwanthary. Hashmi’s acting was gripping and dialogue delivery was also quite good.

Direction – This is the part that left me unsatisfied, directed by Soumik Sen despite a strong story lineup the direction of this movie was not up to the mark and because of that I felt that this movie was not going in the right direction.

Verdict – This movie was good but it could have been a lot better.

Rating – 2.5/5

Review of Simmba

Ab isko bolte hain Kadak Movie. Simba is one of the most entertaining movies of 2018. From Direction to Action to Emotions to Casting to Climax everything was bang on. The way this whole movie was portrayed was wonderful. Right from the beginning till the climax there were surprise elements, lots and lots of laughter and some hardcore action. Dialogues and Casting were superb.

Rohit Shetty is one of the finest directors of Entertainment and Action movies. He knows how to utilize his cast and merge them in the story to make a wonderful movie out of it. The way he decided to put a cameo of Singham (Ajay Devgn) in Simba was remarkable which led to a perfect Climax. Ranveer Singh – Words are less to describe him, as an actor the way he molds himself into his character is epic. It’s a delight to watch him on screen. It’s been a roller coaster year for Sara Ali Khan back to back hits. She has a long way to go on in Bollywood. Sonu Sood completely justified his role and acted superbly. Siddharth Jadhav, Ashutosh Rana, Vaidehi Parshurami delivered brilliant performance in Simba. Overall you can give this one a watch and I am pretty sure that it won’t disappoint you.
My Verdict – 3.5/5

Review of Kedarnath

“नमो नमो जी शंकरा भोलेनाथ शंकरा जय त्रिलोकनाथ शम्भू

हे शिवाय शंकरा”

The best thing about love is that it makes you forget all your stress, worries and makes your life wonderful. The same thing happened with me while I was watching this movie, I was completely lost in the divinity, spirituality, and story of the movie Kedarnath. This is among the finest romance movie I have ever watched. From story to star cast to cinematography to direction everything was on point in this movie. I couldn’t take my eyes off stunning Sara Ali Khan, she proved that she has a long long successful Bollywood career. Sushant Singh Rajpur (SSR) has emerged as a very strong actor in Bollywood. The chemistry between both the actors was fabulous. Director Abhishek Kapoor has his way of telling the story. He knows how to play with the script and make an eye grazing movie out of it. Rock On, Kai Po Che, Kedarnath are some of his marvelous creations.

Another best thing about this movie was its soundtracks and music. Amit Trivedi with his beautiful music and Arijit Singh with his soulful songs left a beautiful impression in my heart. This movie was filled with love, romance, soulful performance, beautiful songs, even more, the beautiful location which makes it a must-watch.

Review of Kaala

The goosebumps you get when you see Thala Rajnikanth entry in the movie is on another level. Two of the most respected and legendary actors of the film industry (Sir Rajnikanth and Sir Nana Patekar) on a single screen is memorable to watch. The first half of the movie was more entertaining and gripping than the second one.

Story – The story of the movie was quite intriguing. The first half of the movie was more gripping and entertaining.

Casting – This was the area where this movie outdid others. Superstar Rajini and Nana Patekar on the same screen is something memorable.

Direction – This movie was directed as well as written by Pa. Ranjith and he made sure that people get thoroughly entertained throughout the movie whether that be with comedy or action.

Verdict – Kaala is definitely worth giving a try.

Review of 2.0

Synopsis – A high-end technology film of Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar with a powerful message, what else a person needs? But things were not right in 2.0 (at least for me). I don’t know why a story with such a powerful message was so weakly presented. This movie had all the elements to make it a must-watch but still, except awesome jaw-dropping VFX and wonderful cinematography, I felt that this movie was below average.

Casting – I don’t think there is any introduction needed for two of the most respected actors from the film industry. Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar acted well and gave their best.

Cinematography – Now this is something that deserves all the applause. What a visual treat it was to watch this movie! Amazing work.

Verdict – I believe that it’s a matter for personal choice, but for me, this movie was not up to the mark.

Review of Creed II

Synopsis – Creed 2 is a good compilation of previous movies from the Rocky series and It did manage to successfully entertain the audience throughout the movie. One of the best parts of all the movies from the series is that they are filled with all the emotions beautifully.

Story – The story revolved around Adonis Creed, son of veteran boxer Apollo Creed who decides to fight Viktor Drago, son of Ivan Drago who killed his father in the ring thirty years back.

Cast – Sylvester Stallone returned in his iconic avatar as Rocky Balboa. His performance was at par like always. Michael B. Jordan gave a powerful performance. He is certainly gaining momentum in the industry. Dolph Lundgren, Tessa Thompson acted brilliantly.

Verdict – This film will take you on a nostalgic journey. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Review of Stree

Synopsis – This movie was very fascinating to me. It is probably the best comedy horror movie of Bollywood after Bhool Bhulaiyaa. It was filled with laughter and some horror.

Story – This movie had a very unique story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Cast – Rajkumar Rao has become a man who needs no introduction to Bollywood. His versatility speaks for itself. Amazing Performance. Shraddha Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee they all acted brilliantly, but it’s Pankaj Tripathi who steals the show with his amazing comic timing.

Direction – Wonderful direction by Amar Kaushik. It seems like he is becoming a specialist in the direction horror comedy movie.

Verdict – You can give this one a try and it won’t disappoint you.

Review of Mission Impossible : Fallout

Synopsis – As I have said before that some movie series such as Fast & Furious, Mission Impossible & James Bond tend to go one step ahead in every movie and make it a delight to watch. Tom Cruise and Henry Cavill are among the best action heroes in the Hollywood industry and watching both of them together especially when Henry is playing a negative role were awesome.

Story – Story was wonderful. This movie never lost its grip in keeping the audience excited. Especially the last half an hour was filled with an adrenaline rush.

Cast – Casting was a sheer example of perfection. Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris, Michelle Monaghan, and many more everyone played his part wonderfully.

My Verdict – Wonderful action, car chase, helicopter crashing, skydiving, nuclear bombs & ETHAN HUNT what else anyone needs to make you watch a movie. It’s definitely worth a watch.
